TECHNICAL PAPER: Optimize Profits When Designing Eagle Ford Condensate Splitters

December 19, 2017

Eagle Ford Condensate is becoming more and more plentiful, and is overwhelming the overheads of crude units that blend it in with their heavier crude charge. Several separate grass-roots condensate splitter units are currently being designed and/or installed to process this as a 100% feedstock. These common splitter designs are often based on minimum investment costs.

Considering today's high-product differential values, KP Engineering has reservations about optimization capabilities. KPE subsidiary, McDaniel Process Engineering Consultants (MPEC), has developed its own grass-roots process design to increase profit by maximizing high-value distillate yields and minimizing low-value yields.
