KP Engineering Promotes Ricardo Velez, Director of Engineering

HOUSTON (Sept. 9, 2024) – KP Engineering, a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Shaw Group and leader in the design and execution of customized EPC solutions for the refining, syngas, hydrogen, and renewable fuel industries, has promoted Ricardo Velez to Director of Engineering. In his new role, he will be responsible for driving alignment across our engineering business, including process, mechanical, electrical, and civil/structural engineering.

During his 24-year career, Ricardo has progressed through roles with increasing breadth and challenge, leading work for various projects across North America, Australia, and Colombia. Ricardo's resume includes experience across a wide range of technologies, including renewables, hydrogen, conventional fuels, and gasification projects. Ricardo will also leverage the experience he gained from leading his own engineering business, in addition to working for a large US EPC firm and his ten-year tenure at KP Engineering.

Ricardo earned his bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Texas and Colombia and a member of the American Institute of Steel Construction.
