KP Engineering will provide engineering services to evaluate options for modifying the Fluidized Catalytic Cracking Unit (FCCU) regenerator and flue gas system for a Gulf Coast Refiner. The feasibility study will consider options for increasing steam production with a CO boiler while reducing gas velocity through the FCCU regenerator section to improve cyclone reliability. Several operating cases will be reviewed as part of the study. Preliminary engineering work will be completed to the extent necessary to confirm technical viability of the proposed options. Budgetary cost information will be supplied to provide cost guidance. The process study is expected to take two months to complete and will be performed by KPE experts in FCCU process and mechanical design.
