NGL FractionatorDeep Expertise, Expansive Service

In 2014, KPE undertook the engineering, design and fabrication of a custom 60,000 barrels per day (BPD) Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) Fractionation unit in the Utica/Marcellus Shale region.

The project had to be completed within a ten-month turnaround time.

The first phase of the project was to engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) for the inside the battery limits (ISBL) of the NGL Fractionation process unit.  When KPE was heavily involved in the ISBL work, the client asked KPE to execute the engineering, procurement and construction for the for outside battery limits (OSBL) balance of plant. The OSBL scope of work included adding foot 1.1 million pounds of steel and six pipe bridges to traverse pipelines, wetlands and valleys.

The KPE Project Team adeptly handled this fast-paced, large-scale custom design project in stride. To meet our client’s extensive needs, KPE took a top down approach, acting as a one-stop shop for all of our client’s engineering and fabrication needs. Handling everything in-house from start to delivery, KPE was able to complete this large-scale project from concept to final shipment, on budget and on schedule.
